1964 Pontiac GTO 389 Engine Code 79 J Genuine GTO Engine Motor Vintage

Description

Genuine 1964 GTO 389 4 bbl engine code 79 J with 716 cylinder heads
This engine was pulled from a wrecked GTO several years ago (rear ended) and put in dry storage.
Recently i removed the cylinder heads and oil pan for an inspection,
It rotates smoothly with the bottom end intact,
Engine is all original and appears to have never been opened up since it left the factory as it still has GM steel shim head gaskets.
Standard bore of 4.062“
A great platform for a “builder engine”
This engine was originally mated with an auto transmission but would also work great with a 4-speed manual transmission application as well.
